Amidst Hopelessness From The System, Ashutosh Tandon Offers Hope, Solace To Many COVID Patients In His Constituency

Lucknow, May 10 (TNA) At a time when the Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh is being slammed left right and centre for its inability to come to the rescue and relief of thousands effected by the dreaded Coronavirus, a few ministers seem to be of some solace on their personal levels.

A few days back, video of law minister Brajesh Pathak had surfaced in which he was showing steam inhalers and packets of COVID medicines he was dispatching for people in need. On Monday, the urban development minister Ashutosh Tandon 'Gopal ji' tweeted a cell phone number, saying that people in need may WhatsApp the requirement and help will be sent immediately.

While some thought of it being yet another hog wash from a mantri (minister), a COVID patient in Indiranagar, also the assembly constituency of the minister, was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from the minister's staff seeking to know what help was required. When told by the lady patient that she was not getting medicines, she was asked to send her RTPCR report.

She told TNA that minutes later her husband received a call from a senior party office beware from the area, Yogesh Chaturvedi, seeking to know the address where the medicine was required. A relieved patient while profusely thanking the minister for his prompt help said she was happy to note of "some response from the otherwise unresponsive system".
