Amid Surge Of COVID, UP Government Issues Tough Guidelines

Lucknow, April 4 (TNA) With a massive surge in fresh cases of COVID, across the state, the Uttar Pradesh government late on Sunday issued fresh and tough guidelines. According to the new set of rules issued by the chief secretary, on a report of a single COVID patient, an area will be declared a containment zone and 20 houses will be sealed.

In case there are more than a patient, 60 houses will be sealed in the affected area, an official said. It was also informed that on report of one positive patient, the respective floor will be sealed in a multi-storey building.

In case of more than a patient, related block of housing group will be sealed. It has also been decided that a containment zone will only be unlocked after no COVID positive case is found in that area.

Movement in containment zones will be restricted for 14 days. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also asked dedicated COVID hospitals and medical facilities to ensure adequate availability of beds, oxygen supply, medicines and medical staff.

UP seems to have been hit by the second wave of Corona with more than 4000 cases reported in the last 24-hours on Sunday and 31 people dying because of the dreaded virus.
