Allahabad High Court To UP Chief Secretary: Why Are So Many Cases Pending In Education Department?

Prayagraj, May 20 (TNA) The Allahabad High Court has asked the Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra on why so many cases are pending in the education department Skilled and competent officers should be posted at the place of work, who can take decisions expeditiously, the court said.

The court asked the registrar to apprise the chief secretary of the order within 72 hours. It has been directed that the Chief Secretary will submit his report through the Registrar before the Court. Expressing displeasure over the work being done by the officers of the Education Department, the Allahabad High Court has made this strong comment.

Why are the subordinates not following the court orders? In most of the cases these officers are found to be incapacitated, they should be kept at the desk with minimum work, it further said. The court has fixed July 24 for hearing the matter. This order was given by Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal while hearing a contempt petition filed by Rakesh Devi alias Rakesh Kumari.
