Allahabad High Court Bar Association To Boycott Presidential Event On Saturday
Prayagraj, Sep 9 (TNA) The Allahabad High Court Bar Association will be boycotting an event in which president of India, Ram Nath Kovind will be the chief guest on Saturday. According to a statement issued by the honorary secretary of the lawyers body, Prabha Shankar Mishra, the decision was taken at an emergency meeting convened on Thursday.
He further stated that the decision was "unanimous" and that the lawyers were hurt at the fact that they were not invited for the event in which the president will lay the foundation stone of a Rs 600 crore project for construction of lawyers chambers, parking, shall and the National Law University.
It is said, a senior lawyer said that the members of the biggest Bar Association in the world were slighted like this. The meeting was chaired by the president of the Allahabad High Court Bar Association Amrendra Nath Singh.
