Allahabad HC Takes Suo Moto Cognizance Of Kanpur Bar Council Poll Violence

Lucknow, December 19 (TNA) The Allahabad High Court has taken suo motu cognizance in the case of violence - attacking the Elders Committee members, forcibly re-polling, vandalizing the books kept as heritage and killing of a lawyer during the Bar Association elections in the court premises on Friday.

The High Court has sought a report from the UP Bar Council. The Elders Committee has sent the names of two general secretaries, one president, two joint ministerial candidates and their supporters in the report. CCTV footage related to the incident is also being sent.

On the other hand, the UP Bar Council has also taken the matter seriously. The officials claim that the membership of chaotic lawyers will be terminated as soon as the report is received.

During the firing amongst the lawyer groups near Shatabdi Gate in the court premises, advocate Gautam Dutt was murdered, CCTV footage of this is also being sent. Video footage of the uproar in the Bar Association Hall, Ram Avtar Mahana Hall and the ground floor of the Civil Court complex are being sent.
