Allahabad HC Stays Criminal Proceedings, Chargesheet Against Akhilesh Yadav In A 2022 Case

Prayagraj, December 5 (TNA) In big relief to former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, the Allahabad High Court (HC) on Tuesday put on hold the charge sheet and criminal proceedings, against him in a case registered in Dadri police station of Noida, The case was registered against Akhilesh Yadav and others in February 2022.

The allegation was of taking out a procession with a huge crowd without permission following which a case was registered on charges of violation of code of conduct and violation of Covid 19 rules. Police had filed charge sheet after investigation. The court had taken cognizance of the police charge sheet,

Akhilesh Yadav had challenged the charge sheet by filing a petition in the High Court. While hearing the petition of Akhilesh Yadav, the High Court stayed the charge sheet and criminal proceedings. Senior advocates Imran Ullah and Vineet Vikram presented Akhilesh Yadav's side in the court.
