Allahabad HC Rejects Consensual Relationship With A Minor

Prayagraj, October 27 (TNA) The Allahabad High Court (HC) has rejected consensual relationship with a minor. It also said that how will one who depends on his own father take care of his girlfriend? The court said that a boy who is dependent on his father cannot take care of his girlfriend.

Allahabad High Court refused to allow an adult girlfriend to have a live-in relationship with a minor. The court said that a boy who is dependent on his father cannot take care of his girlfriend.

This order was given by Justice Rahul Chaturvedi and Justice Mohd. The division bench of Azhar Hussain Idrisi rejected the petition challenging the FIR of kidnapping on behalf of the adult girlfriend Anchal Rajbhar, resident of Ghazipur, and her minor partner, resident of Azamgarh.

The matter is of Bahariabad area of Ghazipur. Hariram Rajbhar, father of the petitioner's girlfriend, had filed an FIR for kidnapping against the daughter's minor lover. The petitioner's girlfriend and her partner had jointly filed a petition demanding cancellation of the FIR.

It was argued that both of them had been living together willingly for a long time. Therefore the FIR against the minor lover should be cancelled. Both the petitioners are happy with each other. Want to live our life together. They should also be given permission and protection to live together.

The court found in the documents filed by the petitioners that the girlfriend is an adult but the boyfriend is a minor. Expressing surprise, the court said that how can a minor lover fulfill the responsibility of his girlfriend who himself is living his life with the support of his father. The court rejected the petition and refused to cancel the FIR and allow the petitioners to have a live-in relationship.
