Allahabad HC Asks AAI To Respond To PIL Highlighting Lack Of Facilities At Bamrauli Airport In Prayagraj

Prayagraj, November 24 (TNA) The Allahabad High Court (HC) has given time to the Airport Authority to file its reply on the PIL filed in the matter of removing the lack of basic facilities and stopping flights at Bamrauli Civil Airport of Prayagraj.

The next hearing on the petition will be on November 28. This order was given by the division bench of Chief Justice Pritinkar Diwakar and Justice Ashutosh Srivastava while hearing the PIL of advocate Ajay Kumar Mishra on November 20.

The state government also supported the issues raised in the petition and said that there is a lack of facilities in the airport. This should be increased. This PIL has basically been filed demanding the construction of a civil airport in Prayagraj. In this, the issue of reduction in flights from Prayagraj by giving an application has also been added.

It has been said that Mahakumbh is to be organized in Prayagraj in the near future. According to the aviation policy of the Central Government and the State Government, there was a plan to promote regional flights but on the contrary, flights are being reduced. Flights to Raipur, Indore and Gorakhpur have been cancelled.

In response, in the affidavit filed in the court by the Director General Civil Aviation, it has been said that the Civil Aviation Department has no role in stopping the flights. This is the private airline companies' own decision.

Petitioner Ajay Kumar Mishra said that he will also file the civil aviation policy of the state and central government in the court. Under this, it is the responsibility of the Civil Aviation Ministry to prepare a framework to promote regional flights so that the number of flights in smaller airports can be further increased. Senior advocates Anup Trivedi and Vibhu Rai presented their side on behalf of the petitioner.
