All Past Records Shattered: 1006 New COVID Cases In Lucknow, 18 Deaths In 24-Hours

The virus is spreading menacingly in the state now, contradicting the "all is under control" claims of the state government.

LUCKNOW || Coronavirus cases shattered all past records on Saturday with a whopping 1006 new cases being reported from the state capital alone in the past 24-hours. According to data released by the state's health department, there were 18 deaths in Lucknow in the past one day due to COVID-19, taking the total toll in the city to 420.

In Lucknow, there are 8213 active cases of Coronavirus as of now, an official informed. Prayagraj also painted a grim picture with 413 new cases in one day but there was just one death thankfully. In Kanpur city, another place reeling under the pandemic, 362 new cases have been reported while seven deaths have also taken place.

Noida has seen a sudden spike in the cases after a brief lull and in the past 24-hours, 213 new cases have been reported. Moradabad has rebored 128 new cases and one death, Ghaziabad 167 and three deaths taking the total number of casualties to 3.

Gorakhpur stood precariously at 206 and Varanasi, the Lok Sabha constituency of prime minister Narendra Modi has reported 4 deaths and 190 cases in the last one day.

In all UP saw 6692 new cases in 24-hours and 81 deaths, which is one of the highest anywhere in India.
