AK Sharma Flags Off 150 Zero Emission e-Vehicles In Lucknow, Talks Of Restoring City’s Pristine Glory

Lucknow, January 2 (TNA) On Thursday, Urban Development Minister AK Sharma flagged off 150 zero-emission e-vehicles in the state capital from Awadh Square. The move is part of the plans rolled out by the department under the bureaucrat-turned-politician to restore the pristine glory of the State Capital, Lucknow.

An official informed that the event was also part of the sustained efforts of the government to make the city clean and green and strengthen the existing cleanliness system in Lucknow Municipal Corporation while protecting the city environment.

These e-vehicles will be deployed to collect garbage from every house and other establishments in the city as well as to transport the garbage to the transfer station and to the MRF (Material Recovery Facility) station.

Ever mindful of the interests of the city's small traders and shopkeepers and for providing better livelihood opportunities, Sharma, a city official informed, also endeavours to enhance the working facilities for the latter's benefit.

Sharma also inaugurated a Vending Zone with 40 food shops equipped with modern facilities in the Vibhuti Khand section of the prestigious ​​Gomti Nagar area in the city. Also, certificates of shops built in the Vending Zone were distributed by the Minister himself to the beneficiaries.

On this occasion, Sushma Kharkwal, Mayor, of Lucknow, City Councillors, Municipal Commissioner, Additional Municipal Commissioner, Lucknow, and local administration officials, employees, a large number of Safari Mitras and citizens were present.
