Agra’s Kavya Becomes A Judge At Delhi University’s Prestigious Poetry Competition
Agra, February 5 (TNA) In a moment of immense pride, Kavya Agarwal, a talented poet from Agra, was invited to judge Alfaaz, the slam poetry competition held as part of Panache, the annual literary and debating fest of the Institute of Home Economics (IHE), Delhi University.
For Kavya, this was a full-circle moment. Not long ago, she was performing poetry on the same Delhi University stages as a student, and now she has returned as the youngest member of the judging panel. The panel also included renowned poet Meenakshi M Singh and institutional judge Saiba Nangia.
A Platform for Budding Poets
Alfaaz brought together poetry enthusiasts from various colleges under Delhi University, where participants mesmerized the audience with their powerful performances. After a highly competitive contest, Gehna Gautam secured first place, followed by Aaryan Rana as the first runner-up, and Ananya as the second runner-up.
Kavya Agarwal: A Rising Literary Star
Hailing from Kamla Nagar, Agra, Kavya is the daughter of the renowned poet Kamal Aashiq. Her literary journey has been remarkable—she has represented India on prestigious platforms, including an invitation to perform at the German Embassy in December. She was also honoured with the title of British Deputy High Commissioner for a Day, a recognition of her leadership and poetic excellence.
Kavya’s passion for poetry emerged at a young age. Her first English poetry book was published when she was just a student in Class 11 at St. Patrick’s School. Friends, family, and admirers are extending their best wishes, hoping she continues to bring honour to her family, her city, and the world of poetry.
