Agra Administration Bans Sales Of Fire Crackers, Cited Air Pollution As The Reason

Agra, Nov 9, 2020 || Owing to rising pollution and hazardous air quality, the Agra administration on Monday clamped a blanket ban on sale of crackers on Diwali, the Festival of Lights. The district magistrate Prabhu Narayan Singh announced that there would be no sale of crackers this year.

This would mean that the 12 places where fire crackers were sold every year in the run up to diwali, no shops will get licenses for business. The district administration has also cancelled the temporary licenses for sale of crackers that were issued only two days back.
