After Probe Reveals Irregularities And Shortcomings, 19 Private Hospitals In Lucknow To Be Shut Down
Lucknow, October 26 (TNA) The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered the closure of 19 private hospitals in the state capital for not being up to date in healthcare services, following a threadbare investigation by the health department.
According to information available, the Health department got 30 private hospitals investigated after received complaints of various types including over pricing, poor infrastructure, shabby treatment etc, an official said.
The hospitals which have been asked to clsoe shop include Samrat, Best Care, Welcome, Galaxy, Shalini, Prabhakar, Ujala, Simna, Ikana and Mediwin.
Sanford, Sadhana, Unnati, Ujala and Kakori Hospital have also been ordered to shut. Officials further said that the district magistrate has given a go ahead to clsoe these hospitals and 11 more hospitals of the city are on the radar of the government.
During the Covid second wave there were many complaints against a lot many medical facilities, prompting chief minister Yogi Adityanath to instruct officials to crack down on such hospitals.
Sources say out of the towal 1200-odd big and small hospitals in the city, only 100 meet the prescribed standards.
