AAP High Command "Refuses" To Let In Retired Whistle Blower IPS Amitabh Thakur

Lucknow, July 6 (TNA) Former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Amitabh Thakur on Tuesday said that he was willing to take a plunge into active politics but his "preferred party"AAP has closed doors for him.

Talking to TNA, the whistleblower former cop who was "forcibly retired" by the MHA, based on a recommendation of the Yogi Adityanath government, said that he wanted to contribute in his own way to the Aam Aadmi Party and had fruitful talks with its leadership as well.

Many AAP leaders also invited me to join ranks with them after which I had a meeting with Rajya Sabha member and state coordinator Sanjay Singh and he too gave positive signals with regards to his entry into the party fold. It was decided that I shall soon join the Party and play an important role in its affairs, he further added.

AAP is taking up the right issues and it was natural instinct me for it to join them but I have now been told that "the Party High Command has objections" to his joining the Party, he stated. Thakur however said that every political party is an open public association, hence it is possible that he may join AAP even after this objection or would join some other party.

I can however say with surety that I will definitely join politics to contribute my bit to the larger systemic changes, he further told this news portal. His wife and eminent social activist Nutan Thakur is presently a member of AAP.
