80-Year-Old Woman Strangulated To Death In Mainpuri, Role of Young Relatives Suspected

MAINPURI || An 80-year-old woman was found dead in her home at Bichwa in Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, police said. She was strangulated reportedly by two close relatives who had come visiting her last night.

The deceased Jasoda Devi, who worked as a daily wager, lived alone at her house. She had two daughter who are married and a son who lives with his family in the neighbouring Firozabad district.

Neighbours said two youth - in their mid-twenties, had come to visit the victim on Saturday evening and she had even cooked food for them.

They were last spotted walking on the terrace at around 9pm on Saturday night. The body has been taken for autopsy and the police has begun to investigate the case. The family has also been informed of the tragedy.
