183 Bus Stations Of Uttar Pradesh To Get A Facelift

Lucknow, April 23 (TNA) State's government bus stands will soon get a makeover and will now be equipped with better passenger facilities as the state government is set to roll out an ambitious ‘Kayakalp’ (facelift) scheme, an official said on Saturday. Preparations have been made to make elaborate arrangements at 183 bus stations.

Top priority being clean drinking water for passengers and water coolers that give relief in the heat will be installed. Bus stations will be repainted. New signage boards informing passengers, timetables and fare tables will also be visible.

In its second term, the Yogi government is going to get these works completed through the ‘Kayakalp’ scheme. The effort of the government is also to enhance the passenger amenities by streamlining the arrangements at the bus stations.

For this, the government is going to implement changes that will benefit the passengers. Under the scheme, the yard, building and rooms at the bus station will be repaired.

Seats will be arranged in the passenger shed. Along with proper arrangement of lighting, fan-coolers will also be installed to give some respite from the scorching heat. Along with proper arrangement of cleanliness at the bus station, there will also be regular cleaning of toilets for men and women.

Along with this, the state government is also preparing to build good bus stations in the state. It is worth mentioning that in the last five years, the state government has connected more than 26 thousand villages with the bus service of the UP State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). Along with the new government buses, it is also constantly making innovative efforts to provide better facilities to the passengers.
