Lucknow Police Expand No-Parking Zones In Traffic Decongestion Effort

Lucknow, August 26 (TNA) Lucknow police have extended their no-parking initiative to seven additional areas, focusing on Gomtinagar, as part of their traffic decongestion campaign. The decision came after receiving input from citizens via WhatsApp and email. The newly designated no-parking areas include Alambagh, Awadh crossing, and Polytechnic, in addition to Gomtinagar.

Earlier, 11 major roads in various districts were already designated as no-parking zones, with unauthorized parking decreasing by 80% after implementation. The police plan to run a week-long awareness campaign, using public address systems to educate drivers about the new zones.

To enforce the initiative, camera-equipped cranes will tow violator's vehicles, with fines imposed for non-compliance. A focus on maintaining a respectful attitude between police officers and the public is emphasized, and control rooms will be set up to help vehicle owners locate their towed vehicles.
