Beautification Work By UP Metro Rail Corporation Underway In Agra

Agra, January 6 (TNA) Beautification work has started after completion of the construction of boundary wall of Agra Metro Depot on Circuit House Road. The construction of footpath along the boundary of the depot complex has started by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation from Old Mandi Square to Syed trisection on Mall Road.

After this, plants and tiles will also be planted here. A special tactile path will also be made on this footpath for the differently-abled. Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation has always been emphasizing on developing greenery, an official said.

As a result of this, more and more greenery will be developed in the Agra Metro Rail Project. Agra Metro has started the work of developing greenery along with the construction of footpath on Circuit House Road. Green area will also be developed in the depot premises by UP Metro, where plantation will be done on a large scale.

It is the result of the environmental awareness that the Indian Green Building Council (IGB), the country's apex body to certify all the 9 stations of Kanpur Metro Project as Green System. c) It has been certified as Green Metro Rail System. Earlier, all 21 metro stations of Lucknow Metro have been certified with Platinum Rating of IGBC.

A world class depot is being constructed at PAC ground for the first corridor being built between Taj East Gate to Sikandra. Since the launch of the project, 60 percent construction work has been completed in the depot premises. A 2450 meter long compound boundary wall is being constructed around the depot premises, out of which more than 2400 meter boundary wall has been completed.

It is worth noting that a metro network of two corridors, 29.4 km long, is to be built in Tajnagri, which will have 27 stations. The construction work of the first 14 km long corridor between Taj East Gate to Sikandra is going on in full swing. 13 stations will be constructed in this corridor.

In which there will be 6 elevated and 7 underground stations. A depot is being constructed for this corridor in the PAC premises. Along with this, about 16 kms between Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar. A longer second corridor will be constructed, which will have 14 elevated stations. Depot will be constructed for this corridor in Kalindi Vihar area.
