Prayagraj, February 12 (TNA) As millions took the holy dip at the Sangam nose and other ghats on the occasion of Magha Poorniam at the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj on Wednesday, the visitors were astounded by many a facets of what they were terming as a “never-seen-before” congregation of this mammoth scale.

And while, technically, the Mahakumbh concludes with Magh Purnima, which fell today, February 12, many wide-eyed pilgrims suggest that at this moment, a detailed study should be done and will be done about the Mahakumbh, certain pillars and aspects of the Mahakumbh management stand out as icons or shining stars.

This can be discovered from what everyone talks about, including Indians and foreigners, young and old, rich and poor.

Based on common knowledge, it can be categorically said that certain things didn’t fail even for a moment during this month-plus period of Mahakumbh.

This includes more than 20000 cleanliness workers who worked day and night to keep the whole area neat and clean. Not only the city area, not only its roads and streets but every nook and corner of the mahakumbh area, which spread into around 50000 hectares, was kept clean at par with global standards. An important basic amenity like drinking water both from 75000 water taps and 250 water ATMs kept flowing to the satisfaction of everyone.

एहि प्रकार भरि माघ नहाहीं। पुनि सब निज निज आश्रम जाहीं।। प्रति संबत अति होइ अनंदा। मकर मज्जि गवनहिं मुनिबृंदा।।

Electricity supply is another success story with lakhs of points in camps and streets, which made the Mahakumbh a sparkling township and place that looked like a galaxy and could be seen even from space. The 1.5 lakh toilets did work, and they were kept clean and functional. Similarly, enough number of urinals were put in the mela area and they performed with satisfactory standards of hygiene throughout.

So far as Prayaag is concerned, the importance of the Hindu month of Magh has been enumerated in various scriptures of Hindu mythology. This month falls broadly between mid-January and mid-February, and the same is over on 12th February. It has been said that in this month, everyone comes to Prayaag, including the deities and demons.

Every year, on the banks of the rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswati at Prayaag Triveni, there is celestial bliss.

Ramcharit Manas says...

"माघ मकर गति रवि जब होई।

तीरथ पतिहिं आव सब कोई॥

देव दनुज किन्नर नर श्रेनी।

सादर मज्जहिं सकल त्रिवेनी॥

Similarly, it is also said that...

माघमासे गमिष्यन्ति गंगायमुनसंगमे।

ब्रह्माविष्णु महादेवरुद्रादित्यमरुदगणा:॥

Ramcharitmanas also describes the conclusion of this blissful gathering at the end if Magh month.
