Administration At The Brink As Heavy Crowds Throng Renovated Kashi Vishwanath Temple

Varanasi, January 5 (TNA) With the new look Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, the Lok Sabha constituency of prime minister Narendra Modi, drawing huge crowds of devotees, the district and temple administration are struggling to control the crowds, specially in wake of the spike in Covid cases.

In view of the continuous gathering, sources say, preparations are underway for a permanent ban on touching the Shiv Linga and entry into the sanctum sanctorum. Devotees will be made to have darshan’s from outside. Special vessels will be installed near the sanctum for Jalabhishek, an official said.

The four entrances of the sanctum have already been barricaded. According to the officials, after the inauguration of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, five to eight times more devotees are reaching than in earlier days.
