UP Government To Run 700 Electric Buses In 14 Cities

Lucknow, July 20 (TNA) With an aim of minimising pollution in different cities of the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to ply 700 electrical buses in 14 cities of the state.

Of these 700 electric buses to be operationalised in the state, Central Industries Department will run 600 buses, UP government will run 100 electric buses, and a grant of Rs 45000 will be given to the operator, an official said on Tuesday.

Of the total 700-bus fleet, 100 electric buses will run in Agra, 100 in Kanpur, 100 in Lucknow. Other cities are being decided and thereafter the quota of buses will also be sanctioned as per requirement and assessment, officials said.
