Uttar Pradesh Government To Rank Engineering Colleges For Quality

Quality of technical institutes to be tested through UP State Institution Ranking Framework

Lucknow, Sept 1 (TNA) On the lines of National Institutional Ranking Framework, the State Government will implement the UP State Institutional Ranking Framework to enhance the quality of technical institutions.

Ranking will be issued to technical institutes on the basis of research, placement, admission and innovation. According to the Department of Technical Education, this step has been taken to increase the quality of education in state and private technical institutions.

Secretary Technical Education Alok Kumar informed that the ranking of technical institutes of the state will be done up to the UP State Institutional Ranking Framework very soon.

In this, their rank will be decided in the institutes on the basis of Teaching, Learning, Research, Graduation Outcome (Institute Outcomes, Placement), Outries and Inclusivity (Institution's participation globally). There is also a plan to give grants to the institutions on the basis of ranking.

According to Prof. Vineet Kansal, Acting Vice Chancellor of AKTU, NIRF ranking is done on the basis of academic quality, research, admission, student numbers, courses etc. Will now test the quality of technical institutes in Uttar Pradesh through SIRF.

This will enhance the quality of the institutions. With the good ranking of the institute, the interest of the students for admission there will also increase. This is a great initiative of the government. This will benefit both the students and the institute.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath, an official said, was determined to improve the technical education and skill development of the students. About 750 technical institutes are affiliated to the Uttar Pradesh Technical University, which includes about 14 government engineering colleges.

Where more than three and a half lakh students are studying. There is a fight for admission in some of the top engineering colleges of the state including government engineering colleges.

There are also some institutes where it becomes difficult to fill B.Tech seats. The institutes in which there is a problem of admission due to the implementation of SIRF. They will benefit a lot.

There the educational quality will be improved. Research and placement will be encouraged. Apart from this, the state government is also providing financial help to the students through the UP Startup Scheme to implement the ideas.
