In Presence Of Police, Allahabad University Officials Evict Illegally Staying Students From The Holland Hostel

Prayagraj, May 20 (TNA) In presence of heavy police posse, the Allahabad University officials on Saturday began to evict students illegally staying at the famous Holland Hall Hostel. An officials said that despite many notices to leave the hostel premises, many old students were overstaying illegally in the hostel for years. The action over the weekend, was the last resort, he further added.

The teams at the hostel to flush out the students were met with stiff resistance but they were removed using force by the police personnel present. Some students were detained as well. On Saturday, when the administrative officers along with the force arrived in large numbers to vacate the hostels, there was panic among the inmates and many student leaders started protesting.

The administration is carrying out a flush out campaign to remove illegal students from the historic Holland Hall hostel. Rapid Action Force and PAC personnel have also been deployed around the hostel since morning. Police teams entered the hostel from 10:30 am to vacate it and by 12 pm most of the rooms had been vacated.
