Gulzar To Be Conferred Honorary D.Litt By Allahabad University

Prayagraj, August 5 (TNA) The Allahabad Central University has decided to give an honorary degree of D.Litt to eminent Bollywood lyricist Gulzar. It is reported that the famous poet, composer, director, lyricist has been approached with the request to give his consent to the proposal and accept the degree.

The proposal of Professor Prashant Ghosh, Chairman, Department of Economics, was unanimously approved by the Academic Council, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Sangeeta Srivastava, on Wednesday.

Gulzar will be conferred with the degree for his contribution to poetry, film and culture. This degree will be awarded to the eminent poet at the convocation of AU on September 23 this year.
