Youth Congress To Immerse Ashes Of 500 Unclaimed COVID Victims In Haridwar On Friday

New Delhi, June 10 (TNA) In a noble gesture towards people who lost their lives in the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Indian Youth Congress has taken a gigantic step of compassion and kindness. On Thursday, a team of IYC workers wrapped and packed the unclaimed ashes of more than 500 COVID victims and kept them in urns.

It was also informed these these ashes would be taken by teams of IYC lead by its chief BV Srinivas to Haridwar where they will be given a warm send off, as per rituals and traditions in the holy Ganges. Most of these bodies had been cremated at the Nigambodh Ghat in New Delhi and none of the relatives or family members of these people came to claim their ashes for the last rites.

Since no body had come to take the ashes the youth Congress decided to take this responsibility and they came forward to give the dead a warm and respectable send off.
