Tirath Singh Rawat Is The New Uttarakhand CM, To Be Sworn In The Evening
Dehradun, March 10 (TNA) A day after Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat stepped down from the post, BJP Lok Sabha MP Tirath Singh Rawat was named as his successor. The 56-year-old will be sworn in as the new chief minister of the hill state at 4 pm on Wednesday evening.
He was the chief of the party in Uttarakhand in 2013-15 and also an MLA from the state in the past. Trivendra Singh Rawat resigned after days of speculation about a leadership change in the hill state after murmurs of dissent, allegations of non-performance and resentment within the Uttarakhand BJP over his style of functioning.
