Three Army Troopers Martyred In Gun Battle With Terrorists In Kashmir

Srinagar, August 5 (TNA) Three army personnel were killed in an encounter with terrorists in South Kashmir's Kulgam district late on Friday. Additional security forces have been sent to track the terrorists. A search operation is being conducted in the surrounding the area. Two to three terrorists are suspected to be holed up there.

The Srinagar-based Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said in a tweet that security forces launched a search operation on Friday after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the high-altitude area in the Hallan forest area of Kulgam. During this, the hidden terrorists started firing on the security forces after seeing the cordon getting tighter.

Three soldiers were seriously injured in the firing from both sides, who died during treatment. Sources say that the names of the martyred soldiers are head constable Babulal, constable Wasim Ahmed and Sachin. However, the army has not released the names of the soldiers. Senior officers of the army and other security forces are camping on the spot and an extensive search operation is going on.
