Union Minister Thaawarchand Gehlot Named New Karnataka Governor

New Delhi, July 6 (TNA) President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday appointed some new governors and transferred some others, a statement said. P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, the incumbent Governor of Mizoram has been transferred and appointed as Governor of Goa.

Satyadev Narayan Arya, Governor of Haryana has been transferred and appointed as Governor of Tripura, Ramesh Bais, Governor of Tripura Jhas been moved to Jharkhand.

Union minister Thaawarchand Gehlot has been appointed as Governor of Karnataka.

Bandaru Dattatraya, Governor of Himachal Pradesh has been moved to Haryana. Hari Babu Kambhampati is the new Governor of Mizoram. Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel has been named as the new Madhya Pradesh Governor and Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar is the new Governor of Himachal Pradesh.

The above appointments, the communique from the Rashtrapati Bhawan said, will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
