Sulabh International Institutes Mukul Kumar Mukherjee Award For Mathematical Sciences
New Delhi, August 4 (TNA) Leading sanitation major, Sulabh International Social Service Organisation has instituted the Sulabh International Mukul Kumar Mukherjee Award for Mathematical Sciences to commemorate the seminal work of the mathematical wizard, late Mukul Kumar Mukherjee. The fellow of Royal Statistical Society (FRSS) England, who last served as a civil servant at National Health Service(NHS).
The award carries a prize money of Rs 5 lakh along with a Gold Medal, will recognise a major and key contribution by an individual engaged in a discipline of mathematical sciences. Sujata Mukherjee, wife of Late Mukherjee, will contribute significantly towards the initiative of honouring mathematical talent in the country, annually.
On August 3, 2023, a meeting was convened at the Sulabh headquarters in New Delhi for the establishment of the award and the announcement of the jury that would oversee the award administration and distribution.The jury has been constituted with eminent academics from the universities of the country, a scholar, a senior scientist and a writer-journalist from Sulabh.
The panel of the jury is slated to be expanded in order to better serve the task of choosing the right candidate for the award.
