SC Declines To Entertain Plea Seeking 21 Years As Minimum Age For Marriage Of Both Men And Women

New Delhi, March 28 (TNA) The Supreme Court on Monday declined to entertain a plea seeking 21 years as the minimum age of marriage for both men and women. The apex court said that this would tantamount to directing Parliament to enact a law to fix the age.

A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices PS Narasimha and JB Pardiwala said that the matter falls within the domain of the legislature and it will not deal with the issue.
