Three TRF Terrorists Killed In “Operation Mahadev” - A Joint Security Forces Encounter In Srinagar

Srinagar, July 28 (TNA) In a major counter-terrorism operation named 'Operation Mahadev', security forces on Monday eliminated three suspected TRF (The Resistance Front) terrorists in Srinagar’s Lidwas area. The operation was carried out by a joint team of the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, following intelligence inputs about militant movement in the region.

The slain terrorists are believed to have been involved in the recent Pahalgam attack. Lidwas, a forested area on the outskirts of Srinagar, is known for dense terrain and its strategic connectivity to Tral via hill routes. The area has witnessed TRF-linked activity in the past as well.

The encounter began during a search operation, and all three militants were neutralized in the ensuing gun battle. Meanwhile, a joint CRPF and J&K Police operation continues in the upper reaches of Dachigam forest, where suspicious activity was reported just two days ago. In January, a TRF hideout was also busted in the same region.
