Lucknow, July 30 (TNA) Worried of the long wait for your passports? Forget the long queues for interview for now the Indian Post has rolled out a facility for passport making at post offices too. According to the information available, now you can apply for passport from the post office itself.

For this, you have to go to the Common Service Center (CSS) counter of the post office and register and apply. India Post recently gave this information about this through a tweet. According to the Passport India website (passportindia.gov.in), “Passport Seva Kendras and Post Office Passport Seva Kendras are extended branches of Passport Offices and provide front-end services related to issuance of passports. These centers cover functionality ranging from issuing tokens to applying for issuance of passports.

For those who have registered and applied for passport, it is mandatory to appear at Passport Seva Kendra with application print receipt and original documents after online application submission.

Apart from this, those who have registered and applied for passport online can complete the process by visiting the Passport Seva Kendra at the nearest post office with the application print receipt and original documents.

Which documents will be required?

To get a passport, you will have to go to your nearest post office with your birth certificate, 10th mark sheet, any of these - voter ID card, PAN card, Aadhar card, driving license, ration card.
