Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh Unveils Vision 2047

Imphal, June 30 (TNA) Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday unveiled the Manipur Vision 2047 document that will serve as a decisive roadmap for the state’s rapid and sustainable growth for the next 25 years.

The Vision Document was prepared by IIFCL Projects Ltd team led by Dy. CEO Palash Srivastava. The vision maps out the primary goals for the state across various sectors, further providing actionable approaches towards their achievement by effectively utilising economic and human resources, and engaging stakeholders in a manner that ensures a fair share of generated benefits for all.

It will be a living document, with possible periodic modifications in line with unfolding scenarios in future. The vision shall primarily serve as a guide for government departments and development partners as they plan specific development initiatives for the state.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Manipur Vision 2047 set the direction for the march of generations of Manipuris, realizing their aspirations, living their dreams and cherishing their achievements. He expressed belief that implementing the strategies laid in the vision as per the suggested timelines will solve major issues for the state like economic value addition, food security, natural resource management and delivery of healthcare services.

Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar, highlighted that the vision has prescribed actionable strategies and interventions in various sectors which shall be based on an integrated, multi-sectoral collaboration among line agencies and departments to find holistic solutions that would ultimately improve the lives of the citizens of Manipur. The development strategies shall also be sensitive to sustainability goals and compatible with the country’s climate commitments.

P R Jaishankar, Managing Director of IIFCL Projects Limited – the institution that assisted the Planning Department with formulating the vision – said that the vision manifests the passion and drive of the political, administrative and economic stakeholders in the development of the state. Manipur Vision 2047 is a start that puts the state on a high-performance trajectory. Since the vision also ties into India 2047 with its emphasis on Act East and other nationally significant initiatives, it will shape the destinies of people, both within and beyond the state’s borders.
