Man Arrested In UP For Faking GST Invoices Worth Rs 42 Crores

Ghaziabad, February 4 (TNA) The Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Meerut team has arrested an accused who fabricated a fake invoice of GST, an official informed. The arrested accused Vikas Jain lives in Ghaziabad's Crossing Republic.

The CGST team has since presented the accused in Meerut Court which sent him to jail.

Principal Commissioner CGST SV Singh said that the accused had set up more than 30 such firms which were in the residential area but were not actually firm. The accused had prepared fake invoices, through which GST worth about Rs 42 crores was stolen.

Officers said that Vikas Jain had hired employees to carry cash and bills. The frauds of 30 firms also include the names of his wife and driver. Under this, only bills were cut but goods were never supplied.

Vikas Jain has also accepted an attempt to cut fake bills. He said that he used to talk only on mobile for the last 2 years. Did not meet anyone in person. Cash worth Rs 2.23 crore was also recovered during the survey.
