Major Breakthrough in Pahalgam Massacre Probe: Man Arrested in Kulgam for Providing Logistical Support to Terrorists
New Delhi, September 24 (TNA) A breakthrough was made on Wednesday in the ongoing investigation into the deadly Pahalgam massacre, as Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested Mohammad Yousuf Katari from Kulgam district for providing logistical support to terrorists involved in the April 22 attack.
The attack, which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists at the Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, had been orchestrated by a group linked to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba and its offshoot, The Resistance Front.
Mohammad Yousuf Katari, aged 26, is alleged to have assisted the terrorists by facilitating shelter, movement, and supplies before the assault. His arrest came after forensic analysis of weapons recovered during Operation Mahadev, a security operation in July that led to the neutralisation of three militants responsible for the attack.
The police have placed Katari in judicial custody and are interrogating him to uncover additional links and any further support networks in the region.
The Pahalgam massacre remains one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years, causing widespread outrage and leading to intensified security operations.
