LPG Price Hike Hits Indian Households Amid Iran-Israel Conflict and Post-Holi Rush

1 min read

New Delhi, March 8 (TNA) The heat of the Iran-Israel war is now simmering in Indian kitchens, with domestic LPG consumers facing a double blow: a Rs 60 hike in 14.2-kg cylinder prices to Rs 925.50 and a Rs 113.50 increase for 19-kg commercial cylinders to Rs 1,923.50. Compounding woes, refill booking intervals have stretched from 15 to 21 days post-Holi, sparking panic among users.

Holi festivities drove a surge in gas demand, leaving cylinders depleted just as the new policy kicked in. Saturday morning saw frantic calls to distributors go unanswered, creating chaos until consumers learned of the revised rates and extended wait times—a measure to manage post-festival booking pressure.

Oil marketing companies attribute the hike to global volatility, urging prudent usage. Consumers are advised to plan refills amid the 21-day cycle.
