ISRO Launches Radar Imaging Satellite, 2 Others
New Delhi, February 14 (TNA) India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C52 injected in the Earth Observation Satellite EOS-04, was put into an intended sun synchronous polar orbit of 529 km altitude at 06:17 hours on Monday, ISO said. The launch happened from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR, Sriharikota.
Everyone welcomed it with clapping. The countdown to its 25.30 hours had started in the early hours of Sunday.
long with this, two other small satellites have also been sent into space. EOS-04 weighing 1,710 kg has been launched by PSLV-C52. It will orbit in a sun synchronous polar orbit of 529 km.
ISRO said that EOS-04 is a radar imaging satellite. It will be used to take high quality pictures of the Earth. These will help in preparation of maps of agriculture, forestry, plantation, soil moisture, water availability and flood prone areas.
