If The High Court Does Not Decide, We Will Intervene: SC On Azam Khan Bail Plea

New Delhi, May 6 (TNA) The Supreme Court has made a strong comment on the High Court regarding a case of Samajwadi Party leader and SP MLA Azam Khan from Rampur. The top court said that out of 87 cases, Azam Khan has got bail in 86 cases. Why is it taking so long for just one case. The High Court was reprimanded on why the matter could not be decided even after 137 days.

The court also said that if the Allahabad High Court does not give a verdict in this matter, then we will interfere in it. The apex court will next hear the matter on May 11. The bail plea of SP leader Azam Khan, lodged in Sitapur Jail, could not be decided even on Thursday. There was an argument from both the sides for three hours in the Allahabad High Court regarding his bail in the enemy property case. After hearing the arguments held in the afternoon, the court of Justice Rahul Chaturvedi has reserved the verdict.

It is worth mentioning that Azam Khan is accused of making fake waqf in Rampur's Azimnagar police station and illegally occupying enemy property and encircling the boundary wall. In this case, after hearing on bail on 4 December 2021, the court had reserved the decision. On the other hand, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of Azam Khan, saying that the Allahabad High Court has not delivered the decision for a long time after securing the order on the bail application.
