Gang Luring Middle-Aged Businessmen On Tinder Busted In Delhi, Three Arrested

New Delhi, July 12 (TNA) The Delhi Police on has busted a gang, comprising of young girls and boys who used to lay a honey trap on dating sites like Tinder and then blackmailed them. A female software engineer, an MBA graduate and a spa owner have been arrested.

Together these people targeted mostly businessmen. Their objectionable pictures/videos would be clicked and then blackmailed. A 29-year-old girl used to do the work of bringing the target to the hotel by trapping her.

Who Were Arrested
Shalini, software engineer, unemployed since last lockdown Aryan Dixit, MBA, dealer in Garments Rajkishore Singh, used to run a spa in Gurgaon after completing her computer engineering

According to Joint Commissioner of Police, Alok Kumar, 29-year-old Shalini use to hang around with middle-aged businessmen on Tinder., call them to hotels and then take pictures through the camera fitted in her handbag.

Last year, Shalini lost her job during the Covid lockdown and then she became a part of this gang. Shalini told the police that she wanted to do something big in life. Last year she was expecting a promotion but Covid-19 put a full stop to that opportunity.

First her salary was reduced and then finally the job was lost. She shared this story to a friend named Aryan (28). Aryan currently lives in the enclave. Dixit called up his friend Rajkishore (31) who lives in DLF III, Gurgaon. He had come to Delhi from Bihar in 2012. He has been caught in Connaught Place in 2013 for molesting and threatening a girl.

Singh soon quit his job and started running a spa with friends. Soon he started recruiting girls as escorts. When the expenses increased, Singh started extorting money by threatening to implicate the businessmen in false rape cases.

Aryan and Raj Kishore joined hands later and included Shalini in the gang. According to the police, Shalini agreed and made a profile on Tinder. She started bonding with businessmen aged between40-50 years and lured them too hotels and then the blackmail trail started.

Fearing infamy, most victims used to finish the case by paying money. But his last target complained to the police. After registering an FIR of extortion, the police formed a team under Inspector Arun Sindhu and Dinesh Kumar. After gathering a lot of information, Singh was apprehended from Gurgaon.

He spilled the beans and also told the address of the other two following which Shalini and Aryan were also arrested. Two handbags fitted with spy cams, memory cards, USB pen drives, laptops containing pictures/videos of the victims. Apart from this, six mobile phones have also been recovered.
