Four Dead, Ten Go Missing As Boat Capsizes In Srinagar’s Jhelum River

Srinagar, April 16 (TNA) Four persons drowned and ten students are missing as a boat capsized in the Jhelum river in Kashmir on Tuesday. A rescue operation is underway to locate the missing, an official said. According to local people, four bodies have been recovered but there is no official confirmation yet.

Initial reports said 20 people were on board the boat when it capsized. The rescue operation is still going on. According to the information, a boat has capsized in the Gandbal Naugam area of Srinagar. Locals have blocked the road and are protesting. On the instructions of Srinagar DC Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat, rescue teams have reached the spot.
