Fiery Car-Bus Crash Kills Six in Karnataka’s Yadgir District
Bengaluru, April 17 (TNA) In a horrific road accident on Friday in Karnataka’s Yadgir district, six people were burnt alive when their car collided head-on with a private bus near Devapur in Surpur taluk, erupting into a massive blaze that gutted both vehicles.
The car, travelling from Yadgir towards Raichur, slammed into the Bengaluru-Kalaburagi bus, trapping and charring its six occupants beyond recognition on the spot, while courageous locals rescued two others with severe burns, one critically injured and hospitalised.
Fire and emergency teams rushed to douse the flames, but the car was reduced to ashes, with the bus also catching fire post-impact. Surpur police have launched an investigation, probing possible causes like high speed or tyre burst, though the identities of the deceased, reportedly from Raichur’s Sirwar taluk, are yet to be confirmed. Yadgir SP visited the site as authorities cleared the road and vowed a thorough probe into the tragedy.
