Eminent Bollywood Actress Shashikala Passes Away At 88

Mumbai, April 4 (TNA) Eminent Bollywood actress Shashikala passed way in Mumbai at the age of 88 years on Sunday afternoon. She breathed her last at the Colaba residence. Born at Sholapur in 1932, Shashikala carved a niche for herself in the film industry with her vamp roles.

Her negative character was so popular that he became an integral part of many family dramas on the silver screen.

She had worked in more than 100 films which included hugely successful films like Anupama, Phool Aur Patthar, Aaye Milan ki Bela, Gumrah, Waqt and Khoobsurat.

She was last seen in films in 2004 in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi where she played the role of Salman Khan's grand mother. Shashikala was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2007.
