Dispur, March 23 (TNA) Tensions flared in Bijni, Assam, after alleged Congress workers vandalised a party office during a protest over the decision not to field a candidate from the constituency. The incident, which has gone viral on social media, shows scenes of chaos inside the office, including broken furniture and damaged property.

A widely circulated video shared by Pijush Hazarika on X captures a man kicking a poster of the late singer Zubeen Garg and smashing a window. Several chairs can also be seen overturned and damaged in the footage.

Reacting strongly, Hazarika termed the act “heinous” and accused the Congress of disrespecting both the iconic singer and the sentiments of the people of Assam. He alleged that the party had used Zubeen Garg’s name for political mileage during elections but failed to show respect afterward.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many condemning the act as an insult to the legacy of the beloved artist. Political tensions in the region continue to rise following the controversy.
