CBSE Class 12 Board Exams Postponed, Class 10 Exams Cancelled

New Delhi, April 14 (TNA) The CBSE exams for class Xth have been cancelled in wake of the surge in COVID cases across the country. Class XIIth exams have been cancelled and a fresh view of holding them will now be taken on June 1, an official informed. The passing criterion of the class Xth students will be fixed by the CBSE later.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called a meeting to discuss the Class 10 and 12 board exams due in May amid demands from various quarters, including political leaders, to cancel them because of the massive Covid spike across the country. PM Modi met with Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal "Nishank" and top officials after which the decision was taken.

The Class 10 and 12 board exams were to begin May 4 and end on June 7 while that of Class 12, four days later. Parents and students are likely to heave a sigh of relief with this decision.
