Braveheart's Family Voluntarily Deposits Mahavir Chakra To Garhwal Rifles Of Indian Army

Dharamshala, August 5 (TNA) During the Indo-Pak War of 1965, Captain CN Singh of Garhwal Rifles led a daring attack in the Poonch Sector on 5th August 1965. Despite being critically injured, he continued to lead the troops in successfully capturing the enemy post. For his exemplary leadership & conspicuous bravery, he was awarded the Mahavir Chakra (Posthumous).

On Tuesday, on the 60th year of his supreme sacrifice, his brother Shri Sukhdev Singh, handed over the Mahavir Chakra to Lieutenant General D S Rana, CINCAN and the Colonel of Garhwal Rifles & Garhwal Scouts at Dharamshala for displaying in the Regimental Centre to motivate future generations.
