Bigg Boss OTT Discontinued Indefinitely, No Fourth Season Planned
Mumbai, January 21 (TNA) Bigg Boss OTT Hindi has been discontinued indefinitely, with no fourth season planned. Show creator Rishi Negi confirmed the decision, citing the success of the main Hindi version now airing on both Jio Hotstar and TV. Makers believe running two similar Hindi formats is unnecessary.
The primary rationale is to consolidate audiences into a single Hindi edition, as the main Bigg Boss now streams digitally first before TV broadcast. Negi emphasized distinct viewer preferences, noting many like appointment viewing on TV, while OTT and TV platforms like Colors and Jio Hotstar offer strong reach independently. This avoids format overlap and boosts overall viewership.
Banijay Asia plans new regional versions in Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Bengali, and others to target micro-markets. Existing editions continue in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Marathi. The Bengali host remains unrevealed but is described as pan-India famous.
Season 1 was launched in 2021 and was hosted by Karan Johar, with Divya Agarwal emerging as winner. Salman Khan hosted Season 2, which was won by Elvish Yadav and which became a blockbuster. Anil Kapoor hosted Season 3, which was won by Sana Makbul.
