As Heavy Rains Pound Mumbai, Six More Killed In Vikhroli Landslide

Mumbai, July 18 (TNA) As heavy rains continued to batter the city of Mumbai and neighbouring suburbs for the second consecutive day on Sunday, eight people were killed in as second landslide, an official informed.

The mishap took place at Surya Nagar, Islampur at the Panchsheel Chawl,Vikhroli. An official of the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) informed that so far 6 bodies have bene recovered.

Some people are missing and are feared to be trapped in the rubble. Local agencies and the NDRF are coordinating the rescue and relief operations. Operations are still underway.
