Apple Unveils Budget-Friendly MacBook Neo with A18 Pro Chip and 16-Hour Battery Life

Bengaluru, March 4 (TNA) Apple Inc. has expanded its laptop lineup with the launch of the new MacBook Neo, a more affordable MacBook aimed at students and everyday users. Announced on Wednesday, the latest device combines a sleek design with powerful internals, positioning it as a strong contender in the mid-range laptop segment.

The MacBook Neo features a 13-inch Liquid Retina IPS display with a resolution of 2,408×1,506 pixels and a pixel density of 219ppi. Under the hood, it is powered by Apple’s A18 Pro chip, the same processor introduced with the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, delivering improved performance and energy efficiency. The laptop runs on macOS Tahoe, Apple’s latest desktop operating system.

Designed for productivity and entertainment, the MacBook Neo comes equipped with a Magic Keyboard, a large multitouch trackpad, and Touch ID support for secure biometric authentication on select models. Apple claims the device can deliver up to 16 hours of battery life on a single charge.

In India, pricing starts at Rs. 69,900 for the base variant featuring 8GB of unified memory and 256GB of storage. A higher configuration with 512GB of storage is available for Rs. 79,900. Students can avail of a Rs. 10,000 education discount. In the United States, the laptop starts at $599 for the standard model and $499 under the education pricing program.

The MacBook Neo is offered in four colour options: Blush, Citrus, Indigo, and Silver. Additional features include a 1080p FaceTime HD webcam, dual microphones with Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum modes, and a dual-speaker system with Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio support.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6, one USB 3.0 Type-C port with DisplayPort 1.4 support for a 4K external display, a USB 2.0 Type-C port (both supporting charging), and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
