Annual Mass Relay Swimming Championship Held At Kochi

Kochi, April 11 (TNA) The annual mass relay swimming Championship, 'Jal Taran' was conducted at Command Swimming Pool, Naval Base Kochi on Saturday. Six teams comprising 600 swimmers from #SNC Participated in the event. The Jal Taran Trophy was won by the Syndicate Team comprising Anti-submarine Warfare School, Diving School, Sanjeevani & Survey Ships.

In addition, races were also conducted in 100 meters freestyle (open category) and 50 meters free style (veterans’ category). Sea Trainee Royal Kuhad of Signal School/ First Training Squadron team stood first in the Open Category and S Dev Kumar CPO(GW) won in the Veterans Category.

The championship trophy and Individual Awards were given away by the Chief guest, Commodore Gokul Krishna Dutta, CSO (Personal & Admin). Jal Taran is an annual event conducted at command to encourage swimming proficiency amongst naval personnel as well as to promote team spirit and esprit-de-corps.
