Mumbai, July 16 (TNA) Acclaimed television and film actress Surekha Sikri passed away on Friday morning after she suffered a massive heart attack. The 75-year-old had been unwell for some time ever since she had a brain stroke in 2020.
The three-time national award winner had hit headlines for essaying the role of 'Dadi Sa' in popular TV seal 'Balika Vadhu'. She had worked extensively in television, theatre and films. She entered the films with Kissa Kursi Ka in 1978 and went on to win both awards and hearts with her roles thereafter.
The NSD pass out had won the nation award for abs supporting award thrice - Tamas (1988), Mammo (1995) and Badhai Ho (2018).Other than this she had also won the coveted Filmfare Award once, six times the Indian Television Academy Award and once the prestigious Screen Award.
MAny film stars took to the social media to mourn her demise.
